Your Rock the Runway 2012 by Triad Goodwill

News & Record Features Reporter and Goodwill Enthusiast talks about her fashion show experience…

It was my first time attending Rock the Runway, and it was really cool to see this caliber of a fashion show here in Greensboro.

It really drew a diverse crowd – from young teenagers to grandmothers. And you could tell a lot of people really had fun getting dressed up for the show. I love clothing and fashion, so it was really neat to check out what everyone was wearing at the mixer.

The show, itself, was even more fun because the audience was so supportive. The applause and cheers as the models came down the runway was really infectious.

The looks, themselves, were totally amazing. I have shopped Goodwill, so I wasn’t surprised that you could get such finds there, but it was super cool to see how everything came together – shoes, handbags, the amazing jewelry (which I know didn’t come from Goodwill, but totally complemented the outfits).

Because Hannah, the stylist, is a fashion expert, it also was a neat preview to what’s going to be hot this spring and summer!

Latasha Driver is an interior designer based in High Point, NC.  She enjoys a career as a Sales and Design Consultant at Furnitureland South, the largest furniture showplace in the furniture capital of the world.

Her experience in design has made her an expert at developing innovative ideas that meet the needs of her clients.  She has generously donated her unique talents as the Venue Designer for the Rock The Runway event as part of the “Artist Collaboration Group,” a collective group of creative women providing Art Direction & Styling for the event. Latasha believes that her contribution to this charitable evening confirms her belief in the vision that Goodwill shares with its community.  She shows her support in hopes of assisting the organization in promoting awareness of its mission in creating opportunities to those with special employment needs.

Meet the Rock the Runway Style Team – Dana LeBlanc by Triad Goodwill

After the RTR (Rock the Runway) models are draped in their awesome Goodwill ensembles, jewelry is the “ice”-ing on the cake; and Dana LeBlanc’s designs are the perfect bling!  Get to know her; another member of our style team!

Dana got her start by selling her hand-crafted jewelry to a local boutique in Winston-Salem, NC. Soon after, she started her own website featuring her bright, beaded statement pieces.

Dana says “I am supporting Goodwill for a few reasons. It is a charity I have worked with in the past and believe in the goals and mission of the organization. I am proud to support the fashion show event with my style team partners from the Artist Collaboration Group and the organization in general.”

In 2010, Dana partnered on a project for her website with the Artist Collaboration Group – a North Carolina-based team of women, organized to provide end-to-end art direction & styling for fashion, interior design and photography projects for both high-end clients and charitable organizations. The shoot featured beautiful, diverse, local women modeling her jewelry and the stunning photos are now featured on her website. Dana is collaborating with the same group to support styling for the Rock The Runway event this year.
